What is an RSS feed and how to use?
The RSS / Atom is a summary updated regularly, of a web content with links to full versions of that content.
The RSS standard (« Really Simple Syndication ») represents an easy way to be informed about news from all your favorite websites without having to surf over one by one.
The RSS file is also called "RSS feed" or "RSS channel".
The RSS file can be used in two ways:
- (novice) With a tool called "RSS reader" you can use the RSS feeds from any site and view the content displayed as a book.
Google and Yahoo have an integrated RSS reader. If you have an account, you can integrate an RSS file in your dedicated space.
- (expert) If you know and use web languages, you can publish the content of the RSS feed and display the colors of your own site.
You need an XML parser.
